JIPA delegation to Indonesia and India

JIPA sent an 11- member -delegation to Indonesia and India from January 15 to 19 as a part of project on strategy to Asian countries. They visited various IP related organs as follows;

    ¡¡­£The central Jakarta commercial court
    ¡¡­¤IP related organizations

    ¡¡­¡Patent Office Kolkata

    ¡¡­£Delhi Police
    ¡¡­¤IP related Organizations
    ¡¡­¥Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Department of Industrial Policy and Promotions
    ¡¡­¦High Court of Delhi
    ¡¡­§Controller General of Patents, Designs and Trade Marks
All destinations warmly welcomed the delegation, so they had productive opinion exchange at each place. Thanks to JETRO local offices, the mission also had meaningful meetings and found out what the local private IP related organs really think.

This mission mainly intended to lay out Japanese basic IP principal and regulation against counterfeits, make requests for current IP situation, and show the expectation of future improvement in each country in this field.

The delegation was dispatched under an action plan for Asian countries which was drawn in 2003. JIPA is now in the first phase of this plan out of three phases such as, the first one (Investigation), the second (development), and the third (implementation). After this contingent, JIPA Asia strategy PJ enters the new phase.
