On June 6, 2016, JIPA had a meeting for exchanging views with the Indonesian trademark delegation who were in Japan, at the JICA Center (Shibuya, Tokyo). From the Indonesian side, a total of 15 members including Dr. Ahmad Mujahid Ramli, Director General, DGIP, Mr. Fathlurachman, Director of Trademarks and GI, DGIP, other members from DGIP and the Ministry of Laws and Human Rights, and university professors participated in the meeting. From JIPA, Ms. Okada (Suntory HD), Vice Chairperson and Mr. Okubo (Fujitsu), Vice Chairperson of the Trademark Committee, and Mr. Hori, a member of the Policy Group of the secretariat attended the meeting.

At the beginning of the meeting, Ms. Okada served canned coffees in cans as an example of use of trademark, and she made a presentation titled "Japanese Trademark System from User's Point of View," introducing the trial system and non-conventional trademarks in Japan, and the assessment of the Madrid Protocol (advantages/ disadvantages). Though the gusts could not talk over the morning coffee because it was the first day of Ramadan, Director General Ramli and other Indonesian members asked many questions after the presentation, and thus the meeting was meaningful in a friendly atmosphere.
