Participation in the 73rd PDG IMPACT Meeting, and Visit to WIPO, Hoffmann Eitle, Siemens

From 19 to 27 April, 2017, JIPA's Information Search Committee sent a 4-membered delegation led by Vice President Inoue (Sysmex) to the 73rd Patent Documentation Group (PDG) IMPACT Meeting held in Madrid, Spain, Hoffmann Eitle (a Spanish patent attorney's office), WIPO in Geneva, Switzerland, and Siemens, a company participating in Industry 4.0, in Munich, Germany. In our 4th attendance at the PDG IMPACT Meeting, the delegation exchanged opinions with the main members of the Patent Documentation Group (PDG), a European user organization, officers of European patent offices, and persons in charge from a European database company, on the adoption of a patent classification for IoT in CPC, and the legal status of CN patents. In Hoffmann Eitle, the delegation exchanged opinions on patent issues in Spain. In WIPO, the delegation exchanged opinions on the adoption of a patent classification for IoT in IPC, and in Siemens, on the adoption of a patent classification for IoT in IPC/CPC.
